We treat athletes of all levels. Achilles tendon problems, hamstring injuries, groin problems, tennis elbow — everything that blocks an active life.
Our sports injury approach
The difference with us: we do not rest endlessly or prescribe painkillers, but look for the cause and treat it immediately. If a tendon or attachment complaint persists, the doctors in our practice can discuss with you in Dordrecht whether PRP or prolotherapy is useful.
During your first visit, we will first investigate where the complaint comes from. If it turns out that other research or another practitioner is a better fit, we will say so and refer you.
Your recovery journey
Each process is tailor-made, but this is what a typical course looks like — from first intake to pain-free. You are not committed to anything and you always know where you stand.
PEACE — Acute phase
Protection, Elevate, Avoid anti-inflammatories, Compression, Education. RICE is outdated; exercise starts early.
LOVE — Recovery
Load (gradual load), Optimism, Vascularisation (cardio), Exercise. Cyriax at tendon component. Sport-specific retraining.
Sports progression
Gradual return-to-play. In case of chronic injury: PRP (Dordrecht) or prolotherapy. Attention to technique correction.
Full performance
Back to full sports load. There is no need to come back; you are welcome in the event of a new injury.
Frequently asked questions
RICE — Rest Ice Compression Elevation, is that still correct?
Partial — active mobilization (PEACE & LOVE) has replaced RICE in modern sports guidelines.
When can I exercise again?
If pain-free in daily activities, then gradually build up sport-specifically.
Does taping help?
In acute phase for pain relief and stability; not as a long-term solution.
Should I train because of the pain?
No — pain is a signal. Adapted training does, but pushing too hard leads to worse injuries.
Does cupping/dry needling work?
Varying evidence; some athletes experience benefits, others do not.
